AD-TEK CI

Corrosion Inhibiting Admixture – Aqueous Solution

Description

AD-TEK CI is a concrete admixture formulated to give extra service life to concrete structures by protecting the steel reinforcement from corrosion.

AD-TEK CI is a dual action inhibitor, which protects against both anodic and cathodic corrosion.

AD-TEK CI is especially effective against chloride-induced corrosion.

AD-TEK CI exceeds all requirements of Australian Standard 1478.1-2000 as a Special Purpose, Normal Setting Admixture.

  • Marine structures
  • Parking garages
  • Retaining walls
  • Industrial plants
  • Tunnels

Benefits

  • Inhibits both anodic and cathodic corrosion.
  • Corrosion inhibition in the presence of varying chloride concentration.
  • No changes in concrete mix design required.
  • Allows using potential corrosive materials in concrete mix, e.g. beach sand.
  • Does not affect the hardened concrete properties.
  • Extends the service life of reinforced concrete structures.

Technical Data (typical)

Application

AD-TEK CI is best added to the freshly mixed concrete at the batch plant, but may be added to a ready-mix truck at the batch plant or at a building site — the mix water volume being reduced by 50% of the volume of AD-TEK CI added.

AD-TEK CI must never be added to the dry ingredients of a concrete mix. Pre-trial tests are always recommended.

Dosage

Recommended dosage is 2.0–4.0% of cement weight.
