AD-TEK HWRAc

High Range Water-Reducing and Accelerating Admixture – Aqueous Solution

Description

AD-TEK HWR-Ac is a polycarboxylate-based high range water-reducing admixture with accelerating properties to achieve a very high early stripping strength mainly for precast concrete.

AD-TEK HWR-Ac can dramatically reduce mixing water, promoting high early and ultimate strengths of concrete.

AD-TEK HWR-Ac is in accordance with Australian Standard AS 1478.1 – 2000 as a High Range Water Reducing Admixture.

MSDS

Uses

  • High early strength concrete
  • Precast/prestressed concrete
  • Concrete requiring fast stripping time
  • Concrete requiring extremely high water reduction
  • Heavily reinforced concrete
  • Self compacting concrete (S.C.C.)

Benefits

  • Extremely high water reduction: in a range of 20-40%
  • Flowing concrete with accelerated stripping strength
  • Super workability without segregation
  • Low permeability, high durability concrete
  • Low shrinkage and creep – reduced risk of cracks
  • Suitable for the production of self compacting concrete

Technical Data (typical)

Property Value
Appearance Moderate viscose liquid
Colour Light brown
Density at 20ºC Approx 1.1 kg/litre
pH value 3.5-5.0
Chloride content None added
TEA Content None
Air entrainment May increase

Dosage

The recommended dose rate is between 300 – 600 ml per 100 kg of cement binder. For self compacting concrete, the typical dosage is 700ml -1000ml per 100 kg of cement binder. Site trials are recommended to determine the actual dosage rate.

Application

The maximum plasticizing effect or water reduction is obtained if AD-TEK HWR-Ac is added into concrete after cement is wetted out. Thorough mixing is required for complete dispersion throughout the mix.

Because of AD-TEK HWR-Ac‘s very high early strength, the slump life is limited and timing during transportation and placement should be taken into account.

Packaging, Storage and Shelf Life

AD-TEK HWR-Ac is available in 20-litre containers, 1000-litre cubes and in bulk.

AD-TEK HWR-Ac should be stored at a temperature between 5ºC and 40ºC. In an unopened original container, it has a shelf life of one year.

Please contact our technical department for further information.
