Shrinkage Reducing Admixture – Aqueous Solution
Description
AD-TEK SR is a shrinkage reducing admixture specially formulated to produce high performance concrete with greatly reduced drying shrinkage.
AD-TEK SR reduces the dry shrinkage of concrete by reducing the capillary tension of the pore water in concrete. Reductions in drying shrinkage can be obtained of up to 50% at one year and beyond.
AD-TEK SR meets all requirements of Australian Standard 1478.1-2000 as a Special Purpose Admixture.
Uses For
- All types of concrete where lower concrete drying shrinkage and curling is required
- Bonded topping slabs, minimising the difference in shrinkage between the new topping and the existing substrate
- Watertight concrete in hydraulic constructions: dams, reservoirs, sewage treatment plants
- Durable marine concrete

Application
AD-TEK SR should be added to the concrete mix during the batching process with the initial water to ensure complete distribution of the AD-TEK SR throughout the mix.
AD-TEK SR may also be added on site, but an additional mixing time of 5 minutes is required and the concrete should be visually checked for uniform consistency.
Dosage
Recommended dose is 0.5-3.0% of cement weight.
Preliminary laboratory or field trials should be conducted to determine the required dosage rates.

AD-TEK SR is available in 20-litre containers, 1000-litre cubes and in bulk.

Storage and Shelf Life
Can be stored up to one year when stored in an unopened original container at between 5ºC and 40ºC.
