Waterproofing Admixture – Cementitious Powder
Description
AD-TEK WP is a unique chemical treatment for waterproofing and protecting concrete.
AD-TEK WP is specially designed as a concrete admixture which forms crystalline growth within the concrete, significantly increasing the concrete’s resistance to hydraulic pressure, making it dramatically waterproof.
AD-TEK WP is a chloride-free admixture supplied in a fine powder form. It does not contain any chemicals that might cause undesirable significant side effects when used in conjunction with other typically used concrete admixtures.
AD-TEK WP is classified by AS 1478.1-2000 as a Permeability-Reducing Admixture.
When AD-TEK WP was tested against similar products, its waterproofing performance was at least equal to competitors’ waterproofing products.

Rate of Use
For waterproofing concrete, the recommended AD-TEK WP addition rate is 0.6-0.9% by weight of cement. A higher dose rate than 0.6% may create slight set retardation.
Application
AD-TEK WP should be added in a slowly rotating concrete mixer prior to charging concrete aggregates.
This technique minimises some small material loss which may occur with dusting during the first seconds of initial mixing.
The ingredients of AD-TEK WP are not toxic but inhalation is not recommended.
Concrete modified by AD-TEK WP does not require a special technique for curing if not specified for structure type.
Note: The minimum cement content for concrete with AD-TEK WP is 320 kg per cubic metre. A maximum recommended water:cement ratio is 0.45. Under normal circumstances, a water:cementitious ratio less than 0.42 is ideal.
Packaging, Shelf Life and Storage
AD-TEK WP is available in 10 kg paper bags, small plastic pails (sizes on request), and in bulk on request.
AD-TEK WP has a shelf life of 12 months if kept in a dry store in sealed plastic pails. It should not be subjected to excessive pressure during storage in hot weather because of the risk of caking.
